Jo Wood

(she/her)

Jo currently tutors vocational training courses for adults who work with the 0-4 age group. She has done extensive research and training into the psychological and neurological development of babies and young children, and on understanding their behaviour and communication. She also has 7 years experience of working with 11-18 year olds in her capacity as a qualified secondary school teacher, where she taught Food and Nutrition, Hospitality and Health & Social Care to GCSE and A Level.

Jo is also a parent and home educator. Her children are 27, 22 and 9 years old, which gives her a wide perspective on the different stages of parenting. She has not always been a home educator as both her older children went to school and university. When her youngest daughter was born she decided on a different path. In part this was influenced by her research into early child development and communication, which led her towards an evidence-based approach to parenting and away from some of the more conventional and traditional advice.

Jo loves camping, wild swimming, paddle boarding and walking. When at home she loves to cook, do yoga and crochet!

Jo offers workshops and discussion groups for adults and individual parent/carer consultations.
