Watercolour Basics

Tuesday 4th January (11am - 12pm GMT)

Free! - *SOLD OUT* Spaces available on the 6-week block

An interactive painting session where children can learn how to use watercolour paints and use the techniques to create their own pieces of art!

This will be an introduction to colours, colour mixing, the colour wheel and playing with light and saturation.

During this session, Asta will introduce the children to the wonders of colour and teach ways to use watercolours. As with all our sessions, however, it will still be learner-led and so the children are open to explore each material, concept and technique in their own way and follow their own inspiration.

Areas that sessions may explore and cover:

  • Various painting techniques

  • Exploring materials

  • Creativity and exploration

  • Colour and form

  • Fine motor skills

Send your child on a creative journey as they discover materials and techniques with artist, Asta Tutavae!

To take part in this session, your child/ren will need the following resources:

  • Water colour paints, mainly primary colours: red, yellow, and blue.

  • Watercolour paint brush.

  • Watercolour Paper.

  • Mixing tray (you can use tops from glass jars, or old plates).

  • Pen and rubber for drawing

  • Ruler
