Thursday 3rd June (4.30pm - 5.30pm BST)
£6 per person
A time for autistic young people aged 11+ to come together and chat in a safe space held by an experienced autistic Youth Worker.
A space created by and for autistic people, where our communication styles and interests are embraced. Come exactly as you are!
Navigating the world as an autistic person can be stressful. It can be hard to feel like we fit in, to find people who understand our communication styles and share our interests. But when autistic people get together we can understand and support one another and make friendships that last a lifetime.
Groups will be structured and facilitated by an autistic youth worker who will support everyone to participate at their own comfort level. Non verbal? No problem, use the chat function and we’ll read out your contributions. Or just hang out with us, we’d still love to have you there.
Each session will have topics so we can prepare our ideas and anything we want to share in advance, but don’t worry if the topic doesn’t interest you, we can talk about other things too.
**THIS WEEK'S TOPIC - GAMES!**
Each session will have:
An opening circle where we introduce ourselves. You might want to include your name, pronoun, and some information about yourself. If you like you can prepare this in advance. If you prefer not to speak then use the chat box and Bon will read it out.
After the opening circle we can enjoy chatting about our topic, and about anything else you’d like to bring up. Bon will be there to make sure everyone gets a chance to speak, and to read out contributions from people who prefer to type.
At the end we’ll each have a chance to say what we found most interesting, what we would like to hear more about next time, and new ideas for topics.
The sessions will be led by Bon O’Hara (they/them pronouns), an experienced autistic Youth Worker.
Ideal for ages 11 years and above
Places limited to 8 children
